About this tool
The clock above shows the current local time in Phoenix — Arizona's capital — famous among clock-watchers because Arizona does not observe daylight saving time (except the Navajo Nation), so Phoenix stays on MST all year. Phoenix keeps Mountain Standard Time (MST) all year round — there is no daylight-saving change to worry about.
Below the main clock you will find the difference between Phoenix and your own local time right now, plus the current time in the other major cities — the fastest way to sanity-check a meeting time before you send the invite. All times update every second from the standard time-zone database.
How to use it
- Read the big clock — that is the time in Phoenix at this second.
- Check the line beneath it for how far ahead or behind your local time that is.
- Use the city grid to convert the moment across the other major time zones.
Frequently asked questions
What time zone is Phoenix in?
Phoenix is on Mountain Standard Time (MST) (America/Phoenix). This page converts using the official IANA time-zone rules — and Phoenix itself never observes daylight saving, so its offset stays the same all year.
Is Phoenix ahead of or behind me?
The page calculates it live and states it under the clock — for example “Phoenix is 3 hours behind your local time” — based on both offsets right now.
Why does the difference change during the year?
If either your location or Phoenix observes daylight saving and the other does not — or they change on different dates — the gap shifts by an hour for part of the year. The live figure on this page is always the current one.
