About this tool

Discord's own formatting (Markdown) works inside messages, but it does nothing for the places people see first: your display name, nickname, server name and About Me. Those need Unicode-styled text — letters swapped for decorative Unicode equivalents that Discord renders like any other character.

The styles in this generator are the ones that display reliably in Discord's font: bold and italic alphabets, monospace for a terminal look, small caps, circled letters, and the combining strikethrough and underline styles for chat emphasis. If a style is not in this list, it is because Discord renders it poorly.

How to use it

  1. Type your name or message text.
  2. Choose a style that suits the server — bold and small caps are the safe all-rounders.
  3. Click to copy, then paste it into your Discord profile, nickname or message.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use these fonts in my Discord username?

Display names and nicknames accept them freely. The unique login username (the lowercase one) is restricted to basic characters by Discord, so save the fancy styles for your display name, nickname and About Me.

What's the difference between this and Markdown?

Markdown (**bold**, *italic*) formats a message while you read it in Discord, but the formatting codes disappear outside the message and cannot be used in names. Unicode styles are the actual characters, so they work in names and survive copy-paste.

Do these styles work on Discord mobile?

Yes — they are standard Unicode characters and render in the iOS and Android apps the same way as on desktop.
