Online Calculator
A simple calculator for everyday arithmetic — big buttons, clean display, nothing else in the way.
About this tool
Sometimes you just need a calculator: splitting a total, checking a sum, working a percentage while the spreadsheet is closed. This one covers the arithmetic of daily life — add, subtract, multiply, divide, percent and parentheses for order of operations — with buttons sized for thumbs as well as mice.
It evaluates the expression you build with proper precedence (multiplication and division before addition and subtraction, parentheses first), and the % key turns the number before it into a percentage — 50% becomes 0.5, and 200 × 10% gives 20. For questions like “15% of 200”, the Percentage Calculator is even more direct. Everything runs locally in your browser.
How to use it
- Click the buttons to build your calculation (or tap, on mobile) — typing on a keyboard works too: digits, + − × ÷, Enter for =, Backspace to delete.
- Press = to evaluate with normal order of operations.
- C clears everything; ⌫ deletes the last character.
Frequently asked questions
Does it follow order of operations?
Yes — parentheses first, then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction, the standard convention.
How do I calculate a percentage?
Press % after a number to turn it into a percentage: 50% becomes 0.5, and 200 × 10% gives 20. Pressing % twice divides by 100 twice (50%% = 0.005). For a dedicated “X% of Y” question, the Percentage Calculator is even more direct. (On some old scientific calculators % meant modulo — here it is always percent.)
Is there a history of past calculations?
Not in this simple version — the display shows the current expression and result. For multi-step work, note results as you go.
